Extreme is not an exaggeration for effect. In fact, Drake's butt wiggles so hard it seems as if it could detach from his body. His tail becomes a canine propeller. His paws do a little tap dance. His whole body vibrates anticipation and joy at a frequency visible from space.
The text overlay hits completely different though: "The fact that I have to take an SSRI just to get out of bed and this is my dog because I pulled out a jar of peanut butter."
Ouch. But also, 100% relatable to many.
The comments captured the bittersweet humor perfectly:
"Maybe life is just a matter of finding our own jars of peanut butter. "
"This is how I feel about Taco Bell."
"That jar of peanut butter is his Lexapro."
"Dogs are very emotionally intelligent. Bro's probably like 'LOOK WHO'S OUTTA BED TODAYYY WITH THE PEANUT BUTTTERRRR!!!!!'"
"BPRI (peanut butter reuptake inhibitor)."
"It's because he's never had to hop on a Teams call at 6 am."
"He is your peanut butter."
That last one. That's the whole point, isn't it? Drake has peanut butter. His human has Drake. Both are sources of absolute joy in completely different ways.
Why Dogs Lose Their Minds Over Peanut Butter
Here's what's actually happening in Drake's canine brain when that jar of peanut butter appears: millions of years of evolution meeting modern deliciousness. Hello? Who doesn't go a little cuckoo for peanut butter?
According to research highlighted in The Scientist, dogs' peanut butter obsession comes from multiple different sources-biological, behavioral, and learned.
The protein pull: Kate Shoveller, a nutritional physiologist at the University of Guelph who studies canine nutrition, explains that dogs have strong evolutionary reasons to seek protein. "Like most mammals, dogs will select for things that are selectively higher in protein, and peanuts fall in that category," she said.
Unlike carbohydrates and fat, dogs have no protein reserve in their bodies. When they find a protein-rich food source, their instinct says "eat this immediately." Peanuts deliver exactly what their bodies craves.

The sweet tooth factor: Unlike many ancestral carnivores who lost their sweet taste receptors, dogs kept theirs. So when peanut butter contains added sugar-which most brands do-dogs aren't just responding to protein. They're getting a triple hit of goodies: protein, fat, and sugar.
The training connection: Dogs may also instinctually associate peanut butter with positive experiences. Since it's often used as ingredients in treats and training rewards, they've learned early that peanut butter means good things are happening.
Shoveller suggests that dogs have co-evolved with humans when it comes to peanut butter. As long as humans have eaten peanuts, it;s likey that dogs' ancestors did too. When humans created peanut butter, dogs developed that taste preference and craving alongside us.
"It might be smell. It might be taste. It might be physiological feedback which is positive," Shoveller said. "But what all dog owners know to be true is that every good dog deserves a tasty peanut butter treat."
Drake's extreme wiggle butts? That's biology, evolution, and learned behavior colliding into one perfect storm of pure canine joy.
We should all be so lucky to find something in life that makes us wiggle like that.
