An Acclaimed Xbox Game Has Finally Come to Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 has a big game coming today, and it's not from Nintendo itself. Third-party gaming on the Switch 2? You don't say!
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was an Xbox exclusive when it came out in 2024, but this incredible adventure game that creates a new story within the famous film franchise has come to Switch 2 less than two years after its initial release.
Indy is voiced by video game voice actor veteran Troy Baker. The game is in a first-person perspective and sees players do much of what you'd expect from controlling Indiana Jones. Lots of fighting, puzzle-solving, cinematic set pieces, and adventuring are at hand. The game sells for $69.99.
A critic review at Vooks says that the game lives up to the hype and deserved its release on the Switch 2.
"When a game comes late to Nintendo platforms, you sometimes wonder, was this really worth all the fuss when it first released? Were we missing out? The answer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an emphatic "you're damn right it is". While the game's mechanics are things we might have seen before, we've never seen Indiana Jones treated with this much respect for such a long time."
This release may not seem like such a big deal at first, but Nintendo fans know that consoles made by the Big N have not seen the light of day on their hardware in recent years. Poor graphical capabilities are usually to blame for third-party games bypassing the Switch, but all of this has changed with the Switch 2.
There are going to be many more third-party games coming to Switch 2 this year, including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, 007 First Light, Orbitals, and Village in the Shade. Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the first major third-party games that came to the console shortly after its release.
As far as first-party software, there's plenty of great games on the way in the next two or three months. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Splatoon Raiders, and Star Fox are coming this spring and summer.
