New 'Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced' Gameplay Confirms Returning Fan-Favorite Features

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was finally announced back in April, after years of leaks and rumors. Now, Ubisoft has released new raw gameplay footage that confirms the game is staying true to its roots, while expanding some elements.

Released to Ubisoft partners, the gameplay footage (shared by Synth Potato on X) gives fans a straight four minutes of gameplay, highlighting stealth, combat, assassinations, parkour, and more.

In what may be a relief to critics of the RPG-era of Assassin's Creed games, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynched is keeping the social stealth elements of the older titles (being able to hide in a crowd). The iconic leap of faith will be returning. Eagle Vision is also back and functions as a "tagger" of sorts for enemies (which was replaced with the Senu eagle in Assassin's Creed Origins).

The money-throwing mechanic, which allowed players to distract crowds and sometimes enemies and create distractions, is also returning. The satisfying four-chain gunshots are also making a return.

In addition to returning gameplay features, there are a lot of new additions as well. The open world appears to be completely seamless, allowing players to traverse major cities and the wide ocean without loading screens. Underwater swimming has been expanded.

The new rope-pull combat mechanic can be used for long-distance assassinations, as well as pulling enemies off ledges or stunning them during combat. Players can also toggle Edward Kenway's hood off and on, which became a feature in later entries in the series.

While Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is removing some features, like the multiplayer, the modern-day storyline, and the DLC expansions, it seems that this remake is a love letter to fans, new and old.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is releasing on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
