Wild Oat Cafe and Bakery has been operating for seven years in the heart of downtown, at 1305 Cornwall Ave. The popular vegan cafe announced its closure through a Facebook post on March 19.

The restaurant was listed for sale back in 2023, as its owner, Crystal Davis, began having some health issues and could not keep the restaurant operating, according to previous reporting by The Bellingham Herald.

The restaurant and equipment was listed for $200,000 in 2023, but slowly decreased in price. In January 2025, the listing price was only $99,000 for the restaurant and all equipment.

“You can still get the same pastries by special order through our cottage licensed business, The Good Earth Bakery,” the restaurant’s Facebook post states.
