Don’t want to cook for Christmas? These Whatcom County restaurants are open Dec. 24-25
As Christmas dinners vary by family, some people may prefer to skip hours of meal prep and eat at a restaurant instead.
The Bellingham Herald has put together a list of local restaurants that are keeping their doors open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Meals at Lighthouse Bar and Grill
The Lighthouse Bar and Grill at the Hotel Bellwether is hosting a special buffet on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year.
The Christmas Eve feast will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 and includes braised ox tail, prime rib, garlic shrimp, salads and a variety of desserts. Reservations are required and the buffet costs $135 per adult and $85 for ages 10 and under.
The Christmas Day buffet will run from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, including ham, roast, chicken, a seafood station, salads, vegetables, and various desserts. Reservations are required and the buffet costs $85 per person and $55 for ages 10 and under. Children 4 and under can eat for free.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals at Keenan’s at the Pier
Keenan’s at the Pier will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 and from 7 to 11 a.m. for breakfast only on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The breakfast menu includes Dungeness crab omelets, bread pudding French toast, oatmeal, egg breakfasts and pancakes. The lunch menu includes crab cakes, sandwiches, blackened fish tacos, salads, burgers and fish and chips.

Christmas dinner at B-Town Kitchen and Raw Bar
B-Town Kitchen and Raw Bar will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25 to serve a special dinner menu. The restaurant will serve a three-course dinner with a roasted carrot and goat cheese salad, rosemary roasted pork loin and an eggnog cheesecake parfait. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online or by calling 360-392-6502. B-Town Kitchen & Raw Bar is at 714 Lakeway Dr. in Bellingham.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Packers Kitchen + Bar
Packers Kitchen + Bar at Semiahmoo Resort will be serving a three-course Christmas dinner Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25.
The menu includes rolls, salad, filet mignon, potato gratin, cream puffs and gingerbread cake. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by calling 360-318-2090.
Packers Kitchen + Bar is open regularly from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily at 9565 Semiahmoo Parkway in Blaine.
Lombardi’s Christmas Eve dinner
Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar will be serving a special Christmas Eve menu Tuesday, Dec. 24. The menu includes baked brie, a poached pear salad, butternut squash ravioli, pork shank and candy cane tiramisu. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by calling 360-714-8412.
Seating times are available by reservation. Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar is at 21 Bellwether Way Ste 112 in Bellingham.
Skylark’s Cafe Christmas Eve meals
Skylark’s Cafe will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as a special Christmas Eve menu Tuesday, Dec. 24. The special menu includes prime rib, flat iron steak, salmon and egg nog cheesecake.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Northwater
Northwater, a restaurant located inside the Holiday Inn & Suites near the Bellingham airport, will be open on both Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
On Tuesday, Dec. 24, Northwater will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. serving its normal breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
On Wednesday, Dec. 25, Northwater will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. serving its normal menus, but will also have a special holiday menu available from 2-9 p.m. The menu features ham, turkey, potatoes and gravy, rice pilaf, rolls, pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate royal. The special Christmas menu costs $40 per person.
