Portal Container Village closing for the season; last call for beer garden and restaurants
The Portal Container Village is one of Bellingham’s most popular spots, as its food trucks, beer garden and mini golf course bring in tourists and locals alike during the summer months.
But as Washington’s rainy weather and winter temperatures are approaching, The Portal has set a closing date for its operations.
The Portal will close on Nov. 3, until it reopens for one seasonal event, and eventually reopens for the 2025 summer season next year, according to Michael Hogan, The Port of Bellingham public affairs administrator.
All of The Portal’s pop-up shops and shipping container restaurants such as Selkie Scoop Ice Cream, Rain or Shine Riviera Club, Our Kitchen, Zeek’s Pizza, Bin 13 Wine Bar and Kulshan Brewing’s Trackside beer garden will close down for the winter season, according to Hogan.
The Portal will reopen in the winter for one event, Fire & Story, from Jan. 23-25.
Fire & Story, “a gathering of folk, light and lore” is a three-night event where participants can enjoy three large sculptural wood burning fires and over 30 story telling performances and experiences. The event is free to attend and is open for all ages.
No reopening date has been announced for The Portal’s summer 2025 season.
The Portal Container Village is located at 296 W Laurel St. in Bellingham. Operating hours vary by business.
