Another downtown Bellingham restaurant has closed its doors but will now join the local food truck scene, popping up at a local beer garden and The Portal Container Village this summer.

Nana J’s, also known as Curries N Things, announced its restaurant closed in a Facebook post on Thursday, March 21.

“The brick and mortar is closed for now because of lease issues. The food truck will operate into the foreseeable future. The brick and mortar may open at a later date and in a different location,” Ian Johnston, owner and operator of Nana J’s, told The Herald.

The food truck will serve “fast casual Indian inspired fusion,” such as curry nachos, samosas, tikka masala burritos, kabab lamb naan wraps and rice pudding.

The food truck will be parked at Paws for a Beer at 501 Harris Ave. in Bellingham through May. From May through September, the truck will be at The Portal Container Village.

Nana J’s is open from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday, and from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors can order at the truck, or pick up orders made in advance online.
