‘Heartbreaking!’ Locals respond to the ‘coolest bar in Bellingham’ closing Saturday
Endgame, a gaming bar in Bellingham, announced its permanent closure back on Jan. 4, and will host its last day of business on Saturday, Feb. 24.
The closure came due to “the mixture of increasing cost of goods, unstable rental prices and hitting the constraints of what we could do with our limited kitchen space,” according to a Herald article from January.
The bar serves a variety of themed cocktails, nonalcoholic drinks, sandwiches, appetizers and a brunch menu that guests can enjoy while using board games and video games from the bar’s massive game library.
“We are optimistic about possibly coming back at some point, but for now we will be saying goodbye,” according to the Facebook post announcing the closure.
As the popular bar’s closing date got closer, more fans of the bar posted comments on the bar’s Facebook page in memorial:
“Thank you guys for making a sanctuary for the hardest years of my life. Endgame will always be a special place in my heart and my little chipped glass will serve as a special reminder,” one Facebook user wrote.
“Heartbreaking,” another Facebook user wrote.
“Coolest bar in Bellingham, this sucks big time! Best of luck to all of you,” another user wrote.
Endgame thanked all of the customers and visitors who came to the bar the last few weeks before its closure.
“As we head into our last few weeks, we wanted to thank everyone for all the support over the past month! We’ve seen so many familiar, returning, and new faces every day. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so thankful for the amazing send-off,” a Facebook post on Feb. 1 stated.
On Feb. 23, Endgame thanked its loyal customers in a Facebook post for “the amazing adventure.”
Endgame will be open Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 from noon to midnight at 118 W Holly St. in Bellingham.
