‘This hurts my heart!’ Beloved Lynden restaurant closes after over 13 years of service

The Nuthouse Grill, a beloved Lynden restaurant, announced that it has closed its doors after years of serving Whatcom County.

The restaurant permanently closed on Thursday, Aug. 31, according to a Facebook post.

The Nuthouse Grill has been open over 13 years, and obtained business licenses to start the beloved restaurant in 2009, according to Washington State Department of Revenue public records.

The restaurant served a wide variety of dishes such as sirloin steaks, shrimp, burgers, fish and chips and even traditional Thanksgiving Day buffets and other holiday meals.

The restaurant was also popular and well-loved, as many customers responded to the restaurant’s Facebook post confirming the closure.

“This hurts my heart!! We came here every Sunday for our date days. My kids loves this place and then my grandkids love having their birthday dinners here. I love the rolls and loaded baked potato soup. So sorry to see you go,” one Facebook user commented.

“Thanks for the years of memories from us. We would come eat on our date nights. We totally enjoyed the food every time. Thanks again,” another Facebook user said.

The restaurant also received high ratings online, with a 4.1-star rating from 207 Google Reviews and a 3.3-star rating from 54 reviews on Yelp.
