Cosmos Bistro announced it will close its doors on Sunday, Feb. 26, after serving locally sourced comfort food since 2015.

“I have put my all into my little restaurant that could, but honestly, it has been a struggle from the beginning,” owner Cinnamon Berg, wrote in the Facebook post announcing the closure.

The bistro opened in April 2015 inside the downtown Herald Building.

“I figured with hard work, integrity, kick ass food and a lot of help from this wonderful community, friends and especially family, Cosmos could pull through. As much as I would like it to, it is just not working,” Berg wrote.

The Facebook post also stated hopes to “keep going in some sort of capacity.”

Berg continued to thank the bistro’s staff, friends and family that supported the restaurant, and asked for visitors to come to the bistro in its final days of operation.

The bistro’s menu features dishes such as meatloaf, spicy pork adobo and mac and cheese.

Cosmos Bistro is open from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at 1151 N. State St. in Bellingham.
