‘Best spot downtown.’ Poll finds best bar to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Whatcom County
We asked readers where the best restaurant to ring in the new year is in Whatcom County and the votes are in.
The poll had 15 local bar and restaurant options in Whatcom County including Galloway’s Cocktail Bar, Twin Sisters Brewing Company, Wander Brewing and Aslan Brewing Company. The unscientific poll received a total of 52 votes.
The best bar to celebrate New Years in Whatcom County
Boundary Bay Brewing Co. received 13 votes and was named the best spot to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Whatcom County.
Boundary Bay Brewing Co. is known for its housemade beer, as well as its restaurant dishes. The restaurant’s menu features dishes such as fish tacos, mac and cheese, gumbo, lamb burgers and pesto salmon sandwiches.
On New Year’s Eve, the restaurant will also be hosting a New Year’s Eve party to celebrate the new year with live music.
The restaurant is popular online, receiving a 4-star rating from 991 Yelp reviews.
Boundary Bay Brewing Co. is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and is located at 1107 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.

The cocktail lounge features craft cocktails and is located in Bellingham. The bar has also received high ratings, with a 4-star rating from 16 reviews on Yelp.
Back Door is open from 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Twin Sisters Brewing Company came in third place with eight votes, followed by Galloway’s Cocktail Bar and The Shakedown which tied with four votes.
