We asked readers which Whatcom County restaurant made the best Chinese food, and the votes are in.

The poll had 14 options of local favorites in Whatcom County including Lucky Panda, Best Chopsticks, Dragon River and China Palace Restaurant. The unscientific poll received a total of 252 votes.

Winning with 53 votes was Dragon River.

Dragon River has an extensive menu featuring dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup, honey glazed pork, pineapple shrimp and gong bao beef.

The local restaurant is also popular online, as it has a 3.5-star rating from 128 reviews on Yelp.

Dragon River is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is located in Bellingham at 1319 Cornwall Ave., Suite 102.

In second place was Xing’s Panda Palace, following Dragon River closely with 50 votes.

Xing’s Panda Palace has lunch specials with dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, pork with garlic sauce, Mongolian beef and coconut shrimp. The dinner menu includes chow mein, egg drop soup, fried rice and mei fun.

Xing’s Panda Palace has received a 4-star rating from 139 Yelp reviews, and is praised for its egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken and chop suey.

Xing’s Panda Palace is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Monday and is located in Bellingham at 1145 East Sunset Drive, Suite 115.

New Peking Restaurant came in third place with 29 votes. Best Chopsticks followed closely with 25 votes and Asian 1 with 17 votes.
