These Whatcom restaurants are going to be offering something new
Here’s a roundup of recent restaurant and brewery changes around Whatcom County:
▪ A building permit was submitted to the city to remodel the former Chuckanut Brewery space remodeled for Structures Brewing, which is currently on 1420 N. State St.
▪ Jack’s BBQ, which is going into the former Copper Hog space in downtown Bellingham, hit some permitting delays and is looking at a March or April opening. It was originally aiming to be ready this winter.
The company, which has four restaurants in the Seattle area, is known for its smoked meats and its huge smokers. In Bellingham, Jack’s BBQ will have two meat smokers that are each 18 feet long.
▪ The Soy House Restaurant near Maritime Heritage Park is expanding to add a hot pot/grill area, according to a Facebook post. The new section will be in the same building and is scheduled for full service by Monday, Feb. 14.
▪ Ambo Ethiopian Cuisine has added several new items to its menu, including some special dishes on Saturdays. The restaurant is at 902 N. State St., near the Flatstick Pub.
