Overcoming temporary shutdowns, these 3 Whatcom restaurants are reopening
Here’s a roundup of recent restaurant reopenings around Whatcom County:
▪ Locus, a coffee shop that temporarily closed in downtown Bellingham, had a soft reopening last week.
The cafe’s grand reopening celebration will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. It has a new menu that includes breakfast sandwiches, pastries and soups. It’s at 120 W. Holly St., near the Greenhouse store.
The cafe shut down in July to restructure its operations, according to a Facebook post.
▪ Goji Bistro, which is on Cordata Parkway near Whatcom Community College, has reopened for takeout only. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday.
▪ Lilia’s Mexican Cuisine & Cantina reopened for business on Friday, Feb. 11. According to Facebook posts, the restaurant was damaged by the arctic blast that hit Whatcom County in December. The restaurant is at 190 E. Bakerview Road, near Petco.
