Why’d the thrill-seeker cross the road? For the one-day Fairhaven Chicken Festival, of course

Hourly chicken dances, live music, chicken trivia, carnival games, scavenger hunts and costume contests are some of the many events at the third annual Fairhaven Chicken Festival on Saturday.

The Fairhaven Chicken Festival, presented by the Fairhaven Association, will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6 and will feature a variety of free activities for visitors of all ages, according to a news release from the association.

Activities include:

▪ Live music by The Bayou Opossums

▪ Wren The Juggler

▪ Carnival games that cost $2 each

▪ Live chickens

▪ Chicken trivia

▪ Hourly chances to do the Chicken Dance

▪ Vendor marketplace

▪ Scavenger hunt

▪ Face painting

▪ Egg and spoon races

▪ Costume and rooster calling contests

▪ Free popcorn

The festival will be at the Fairhaven Village Green at 1207 10th St. in Bellingham.
