‘Yee Yee Nation’ rejoice, this artist known for selling out stadiums is coming to the fair
Country artist Granger Smith is bringing his country boy alter-ego, Earl Dibbles Jr. to the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.
His concert is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, according to a news release from Selena Burgess, the fair’s general manager.
Smith, leader of his “Yee Yee Nation” fanbase, joins the fair concert lineup of Flo Rida, For King & Country and Pat Benatar and Neil Giradlo.
The artist is well known for his songs “Backroad Song,” “If The Boot Fits” and “Happens Like That.”
Smith has sold-out national stadium tours, has a social media following of over 10 million people, and over 1 billion video views, according to his Youtube channel, which has 717,000 subscribers.
His popular Youtube channel features playlists of Smith family videos, his songs, Earl Dibbles Jr. highlights and sermons Smith preached.
Smith earned a dedicated fan base after a tragedy in 2019 of losing his son while recording his 10th studio album.
“The vision for this music collection was just starting to come together. I had about six songs ready to record, and had booked a Nashville studio for June 5, 2019. And then we lost Riv the night of June 4,” Smith states on his website, recalling the night he and his wife Amber lost their 3-year-old son River in a drowning accident at their Texas home. “Everything stopped. The album wasn’t just on hold. It didn’t even cross my mind.”
Smith slowly returned to music after the accident and created more meaningful and emotional songs that his “Yee Yee Nation” fanbase supported.
“With the new music, the YouTube series, the Yee Yee brand, and the dependability of Earl Dibbles Jr., Smith says it all works together to reveal the truth. We are normal, very vulnerable humans. Now when I meet people, they feel like they really know me. They genuinely feel closer to me and more comfortable around me,’” Smith’s website states.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 20, but can be purchased early through a pre-sale on Wednesday, May 18. In order to gain access to the online pre-sale, sign up for the fair’s email list online.
