Postseason awards continue for Sehome’s Byford, Meridian’s Eyoub
Sehome graduated senior Noah Byford has been selected to the first-team Class 2A All-State Boys’ Soccer Team by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association, according to a release on Wednesday, June 22.
Byford, who was also selected the All-Northwest Confernce defensive MVP, was part of a strong senior class that helped the Mariners reach the state playoffs for the first time in four years and a defense that limited opponents to less than a goal per game and posted 12 shutouts. He also scored on a penalty kick in a shootout loss to Archbishop Murphy in the state semifinals.
Meridian graduated senior forward Alan Eyoub was selected to the Class 1A second team. As one of the top scoring threats in the NWC, Eyoub was selected the league’s offensive MVP.
