Blaine woman killed in crash on border of Lummi Reservation
A Blaine woman has died after she was injured in a car crash Friday afternoon, Nov. 13, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Lillian Moir, 75, was in the front passenger seat of a Volvo S40 driving east on Slater Road near Haxton Way about 1:15 p.m. Another car turned on to Slater and crashed into the Volvo head on, said WSP spokesman Mark Francis.
Moir told first responders at the scene that she had chest pain. She was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, where she died shortly after, Francis said.
The driver of the Volvo, 44-year-old Shannon Parrish, had an arm injury and was taken to the hospital. Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
Olivia Hamilton, 19, of Bellingham drove the Subaru that pulled in front of the Volvo, Francis said. She was not injured in the crash.
Drugs or alcohol are not considered a factor. Charges are pending, but Francis said troopers do not suspect anything criminal at this point in the investigation.
