Feed the Need hits goal

Industrial Credit Union held its 21st Annual Feed the Need Community Food Drive in October, with all donations of food and cash benefitting the 12 Whatcom County food banks. The drive, which was extended through the end of October, met its ambitious goal of 300,000 pounds of food, according to ICU.

Artist lecture

Andrea Joyce Heimer, a Northwest-based artist, will present her work in a free public lecture at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the Old Main Theater on the WWU campus. Heimer is a self-taught painter known for her exploration of the suburban experience, drawing inspiration from the neighborhood mythos of her childhood home in Great Falls, Montana. (Yes, this event is Monday, but we try to help you plan ahead.)
