Whatcom Transportation Authority is kicking the tires on an all-electric bus that passengers can ride for free through Thursday, Oct. 16.
BYD Motors, Inc. offered the bus to WTA for a four-day trial. The company boasts a battery that’s pollution-free that powers its zero-emission bus for 250 miles on a single charge.
The electric bus is running in the morning on routes 232 (Cordata-downtown), 331 (Cordata-downtown) and 401 (Fairhaven-downtown). Afternoon runs are not being announced in advance.
