Music: Double jazz concert Sept. 2 at The Majestic
Whatcom Jazz Music Arts Center hosts a double concert with Adam Thomas and the Jillian Lebeck Quartet, followed by a tribute to Horace Silver by Thomas Marriott and Cory Weeds, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St. (use the Maple Street entrance).
The first set features the Jillian Lebeck Quartet, with Lebeck on piano and vocals, Steve Kaldestad on tenor saxophone, Adam Thomas on bass, and Julian MacDonough on drums.
After intermission, trumpeter Thomas Marriott, tenor saxophonist Cory Weeds, pianist Miles Black, bass player Michael Glynn, and drummer Julian MacDonough present a tribute to jazz composer and pianist Horace Silver.
