Eighteen special permits, six each to bowhunters, muzzleloaders and modern rifleers, each good for access to a limited entry hunt on the heights east of the Okanogan Valley, are again being offered by lottery by the state fish and wildlife department.
These unique hunts take place from September to December during respective weapons seasons on the Charles and Mary Eder Unit of the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area east of Oroville.
There is no application fee or price tag on the permits themselves. All interested hunters need do is log in to wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/permits/scotchcreek/ and fill out the simple form or call either 509 754-4624 or 360 902-2515.
The deadline for applying is midnight Wednesday, Aug. 13.
