These young athletes know how to open the Ski to Sea season
Ski to Sea season kicked off under blue skies and sunshine Saturday as kids gathered at Lake Padden Park for a series of relay races styled after the main event on Memorial Day weekend.
The parks hosted three races for kids between third and eighth grades. The middle school and community race, which began at noon, involved six legs that incorporated cycling, soccer, an obstacle course and a pair of runners doing laps with a single hula hoop around both waists.
