Local swimmer finished top 15 at national swim meet
Bellingham swimmer Brad Jones, swimming for the Puget Sound Masters swim team, finished in the top 15 of three individual events during the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship held April 28-May 1, in Greensboro, N.C.
Jones, 50, competed in the men’s 50-54 age group, which drew more than 3,000 participants. He placed 12th in the 100 butterfly in 57.51 seconds, 13th in the 50 butterfly (26.01) and 15th in the 100 individual medley (1:00.36).
“It’s difficult just to qualify for this meet, so I’m just thrilled to be ranked in the top 15 of the country in three events,” Jones said in a press release.
