Bellingham swimmer Brad Jones turned in winning times in three events at the Lake Washington Masters Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 21, that were fast enough to qualify him for the Masters Nationals to be held April 28-30 in Greensboro, N.C.
In the 45-49 age group, Jones won the 100 butterfly in 57.88 seconds, the 50 butterfly in 25.90 seconds and the 100 individual medley in 1:00.22 — all three times ranked in the top nine nationally this year.
Blaine’s Dick Pederson placed first in the 50 breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 IM and 50 butterfly in the 75-79 age group at the meet, while Birch Bay’s Dave McAlpine won the 50 butterfly, 100 IM, 100 butterfly and 50 backstroke in the 55-59 age group.
