Tesseract’s Garcia qualifies for cross country national meet
Tesseract Running Club’s Kristen Garcia placed fifth at the NXN Northwest Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Boise, Idaho.
She turned in a time of 17 minutes, 58 seconds — the top time by a Washington finisher in the race by 41 seconds. Garcia was in the top group throughout, running a 5:28 first mile and covered two miles in 11:18.
The time qualified her for the NXN National Championship, but she will forgo that event to race in the Footlocker West Regional Championship on Dec. 5 in Walnut, Calif., where she will attempt to qualify for that national championship.
