The Bellingham Canoe & Kayak Sprint Team (BCKST) finished second overall on Sept. 12-13, at the annual Pacific Cup Championship at Whonnock Lake, B.C.
BCKST’s Elena Wolgamot was the Cup most outstanding paddler with first wins in all of her 10 events.
In single kayak, K1, Wolgamot won first place in women’s U13 200m and 1000m, in U15 200m, and 1000m, in a two person kayak, K2, with Ana Swetish, U13, 200m and 500m and U15 200m and 500m, and in K4 U15 500m with Swetish, Sierra Noskoff and Milan Gautheir, and in K4 U13 500m with Swetish, Noskoff, and Abby Scoggins.
Scoggins was the Cup most outstanding paddler in the U12 age group having six first place wins, in women U11, K1 200m, 500m and U12 200m and 1000m, and U11 K2 mixed 500m with Tate Huizenga, and in U13, K4, 500m.
