Sarah Dealy is postponing her eight-mile swim across Bellingham Bay.
Initially set for Saturday, Aug. 29, as a fundraiser for Skookum Kids, a transitional home for foster children, the swim will be rescheduled for another weekend.
The new date is still to be determined, Dealy said, but she hopes to be able to complete the full length of the bay. The predicted 15-foot swells and high winds on Saturday would make an open water attempt dangerous.
Dealy is raising money per mile for Skookum and aims to complete the length of the bay so the organization can receive the most support.
