A pair of tennis teams from Bellingham will be heading to Spokane this weekend, to compete in the Pacific Northwest Sectional Playoffs.
The teams qualified for the sections by finishing in the top two at the Northwest Washington Regional, and the winners this weekend will qualify for the national championships later this fall in Arizona. Team matches consist of two singles and three doubles matches, and the local teams will face top teams from northern and southern Oregon, eastern and southern Washington and Alaska.
The Bellingham women’s 4.0 team includes: Judy Anders, Denis Bosman, Kasey Bower, Gennie Clawson, Carmen Dolfo-Garrison, Kathy Heidenreich, Mary Lawrence, Janet Lenaburg, Kristi LeTavec, Laurie Mullarky, Kara Nelson, Kelly Nolan, Jan Oetgen, Karen Peterson, Susie Pfau, Kelli Sayler, Marybeth Taranow and Wendy Warner.
The Bellingham men’s 4.0 team includes: Jon Abbott, Mike Adams, Arne, Ahlen, Gary Barnett, Steve Ershig, Jim Gresham, Ira Hyman, Ford Martin, Jon Peterson, Jim Pettinger, Frank Repanich, T.J. Tipton, Tim Trott, Francisco Ulate, Sid Williams and Terry Williams.
All are members of the Bellingham Tennis Club.
