Bells suffer lopsided 9-2 loss

Victoria piled on six runs during the first and second innings to earn a lopsided 9-2 West Coast League win over the Bells on Friday, Aug. 8, at Joe Martin Stadium.

The loss came a night after Bellingham clinched a playoff berth with a West Division title.

Bells starter Reagan Todd took the loss, giving up five earned runs and nine hits in four innings, but he wasn’t helped out by his defense, which committed three errors.

The HarbourCats led 9-0 through seven, but Aaron Stroosma got Bellingham on the board with an RBI single in the eighth, and Walker Olis added a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth.

Bellingham faces Victoria next at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Joe Martin.
