Cascade Crush softball earns third at ASA Regional

The Cascade Crush 18A softball team hit 10 home runs in seven games to earn a third-place finish at the ASA U18 Regional Tournament on July 18-19 in Selah.

The Crush finished the tournament with a 5-2 record and is coached by Zapper McGrath.

The players are Abby Bauthues, Gabby Gorosave, Jillian Guffie, Mallory Kruzich, Carissa McDowell, Tori McDowell, Megan Paoli, Lindsey Richard, Eliza Rossman, Hannah Rothwell, Kaylee Vis, Mandy Warner and Sheffy Williams.

The Crush finished its inaugural season with a 24-17 record in ASA 18A, Exposure, and Canadian Open Futures Gold (U19) tournament play.

The Crush will have16A and 18A tryouts from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 1, at Inside Pitch in Bellingham. Players selected from the morning session will participate in a Crush scrimmage for final evaluations that afternoon. The scrimmage will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at Geri Field No. 4.

All girls with a birth year of 1997 or later are eligible.

The Crush organization is looking to field a highly-competitive team that will participate in “A” and “Gold” level tournaments throughout the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia this fall and next summer. Year-round practices and training will be at Inside Pitch in Bellingham, the home facility of the Cascade Crush.
