Bellingham Bells survive in opener against Victoria HarborCats

Chase Scott hit a two-run home run in the second inning and a solo homer in the ninth as the Bellingham Bells survived a late rally by the Victoria HarborCats in an 8-7 victory Thursday, July 16, at Victoria.

Walker Olis added a solo home run in the ninth.

Bells starting pitcher Justin Calomeni gave up five hits and two runs and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings for the win, and Brice Longanecker earned the save.

The Bells and HarbourCats play the second of three games at 6:35 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Victoria.
