Dalzot helps U.S. team to bronze medal in Switzerland

Maria Dalzot of Bellingham represented the USA at the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championship on Saturday, July 4, in Zermatt, Switzerland.

The U.S. women won team bronze with Dalzot placing 18th overall.

The race started at 3,500 feet in St. Niklaus, climbed to 5,300 feet by halfway in Zermatt before heading up the mountain pass to end at the Riffelberg train station at 8,500 feet with the iconic Matterhorn as a backdrop.
