Bellingham falls to Yakima Valley 6-3
Yakima Valley knocked Bells starter Andrew Summerville out of the game after four innings, handing Bellingham a 6-3 West Coast League loss in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday, June 30, at Joe Martin Field.
The Pippins scored a run in second, third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth to overcome a first inning, two-run home run from Bells catcher Bronson Larsen.
Lou Della Fera drove in Walker Olis with an RBI single in the fourth to trim the Bells’ deficit to 5-3, but Bellingham couldn’t push any more runs across.
Bells leadoff man and designated hitter Alex Galgano went 2 for 4, recording two of Bellingham’s eight hits.
Bellingham (13-9) faces Yakima Valley next at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Joe Martin.
