Bellingham Post 7 sweep with hot bats
The Bellingham Post 7 Senior Legion baseball team picked up two wins in a big way Monday, June 29, at Garfield High School in Seattle.
Ernie Yake gave up two hits, one run and struck out 11 in a 15-1, five inning win over Garfield. Yake also went 3 for 3 at the plate.
Nate Pearsall was 3 for 4, Noah Rawls was 2 for 3 and Dakota Jones was 2 for 4. Post 7 had 17 hits and no errors in the game.
In the second game, Post 7 beat Baseball Beyond Borders 13-1 in five innings behind the pitching of Dalton Ohligschlager, who had one walk and one strikeout while only giving up two hits.
Yake was 2 for 2, Jordan Wittenberg was 2 for 3 and Kyler Schemstad was 3 for 3 in the victory.
“We’re swinging the bats well right now and getting some good pitching,” coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview.
