Wittenberg’s big day leads to Post 7 win
Jordan Wittenberg drove in the first seven runs as Bellingham Post 7’s bats were clicking in a 13-2 win over FM Sports on Tuesday, June 23, in Redmond.
Wittenberg had a three-run homer in the first inning, a bases-clearing double in the second and another RBI in the fourth in what coach Steve Slesk described as a “monster night.”
Josh Zavisubin also threw a gem on the mound, allowing two unearned runs in the first before going on to throw 10 strikeouts in six innings.
“We got going early and Josh threw a great game,” Slesk said in a phone interview. “He really set the tone for us.”
Bellingham will host the U.S. Military All-Stars on Wednesday, June 24, at Joe Martin Field.
