Schemstad at his best in Post 7 win
Kyler Schemstad pitched a gem and Bellingham Post 7 used some timely hitting to roll to a 5-0 win over Bellevue on Thursday, June 18, at Bellevue.
Schemstad threw seven innings, struck out six and walked none. The defense played well behind him and Post 7 didn’t allow a runner to reach third.
“Just a real good pitching performance by Kyler,” coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. “He set the tone and the game just cruised along.”
Bellingham finally got on the board in the fourth with a squeeze play, a double by Jake Albert and a single by Tanner Tutterrow. Post 7 added two runs in the seventh as insurance but Schemstad didn’t need it.
Post 7 takes on Garfield on Monday, June 22, on the road.
