Rawls throws no-hitter in Post 7 sweep
Noah Rawls tossed a six-inning no-hitter, and Bellingham’s Post 7 American Legion baseball club easily swept Baseball Beyond Borders during a doubleheader Saturday, June 13, at Rainier Beach High School.
Powered by Kyler Schemstad on the mound, Post 7 won the first game 7-1. Kyle Sandstrom, Jordan Wittenberg and Kyle Little each recorded two hits.
Rawls struck out eight, walked four and didn’t give up a hit during a 11-0 win in six innings in game two. Ernie Yake led the club with a three-hit performance.
“He kept them off-balance,” coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview.
Post 7 (10-4) host Lakeside next at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Joe Martin Field.
