Post 7 earns 6-5 win over Langley
Bellingham’s American Legion Post 7 baseball club piled on five runs in the third inning and took a 6-5 win over the Langley Blaze during a matchup Thursday, June 11, at Joe Martin Field.
Tanner Tutterrow got the win, going 5 1/3 innings before Felix Zavisubin came in to record the save.
“The third inning we took advantage of the pitcher who got a little wild in the inning,” Post 7 assistant coach Jeff Bearden said in a phone interview. “Langley is a pretty good team. We saw some real velocity that we haven’t seen, so it was good we were patient.”
Jordan Wittenberg went 2 for 4, Brady Shearer was 2 for 3 with two RBI and Nate Pearsall was 1 for 2 with a triple and an RBI.
Post 7 (8-4) plays a doubleheader next against Baseball Beyond Borders at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Rainier Beach High School.
