Bellingham canoe and kayakers rack up awards at Ted Houk Regatta

Bellingham Canoe and Kayak Sprint Team showed an impressive performance at the prestigious Pacific Northwest Ted Houk Regatta on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, at Green Lake in Seattle.

Olympic-style flatwater sprint kayakers from Oregon, Washington and British Columbia competed in three age brackets.

BCKST rower Elena Wolgamot collected five first-place finishes in the U14 bracket, two second-places and one third place. Ana Swetfish, also in the U14 bracket, won two events, finished second in five events and took one third.

Joining in the accomplishments was Sierra Noskoff and Abby Scoggins (U14), who finished third-place twice. Jonas Ecker won one event, took second in another and had one third. Cameron Bartlett (U16) placed fourth, sixth and eighth in his races.

BCKST will compete in the third Bellingham Regatta Saturday, June 20, at Lake Padden. The event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
