Post 7 patient at plate to get win

Bellingham Post 7 put up four runs in the bottom of the fifth and coasted to a 6-1 win over the Whalley Chiefs on Thursday, June 4, at Joe Martin Stadium.

Tanner Tutterrow threw five innings to get the win, while the bottom of the order came through for Bellingham, as Post 7 had six walks to go along with nine hits.”

“Defensively, we played well. I thought we swung the bats well. We were patient tonight at the plate,” assistant coach Jeff Bearden said in a phone interview. “It was a well-played game, well-pitched.”

Once again, though, Post 7 only turned it on when they had to — a trend Bearden hopes doesn’t continue — responding to Whalley’s fifth inning score with four runs in the bottom of the frame.

Bellingham, now 4-2, will play in the Yakima Pepsi Pak Tournament on Saturday, June 6.
