Mountaineers mount comeback
Mount Baker came back from a 2-0 deficit in the first half to beat Meridian 3-2 in a Northwest Conference game on Saturday, April 23.
Meridian’s Alan Eyoub scored first on an assist by Jordan Birnel and then assisted Birnel to put the Trojans up 2-0. The Mountaineers then scored three unanswered goals including two off corner kicks by Casey McHugh which led to an own goal by Meridian and a header by Skyler Cannon.
”It was important for us to continue to press even though we were down 2-0,” coach Jason Jorgensen said.

Lynden Christian 6, Nooksack Valley 0: The Lions scored four times in the first half to knock off Nooksack Valley in a Northwest Conference game. Carson Janzen had two goals and an assist to lead Lynden Christian as the Lions had six goals by the 51st minute.
