Squalicum’s Peterson scores a pair in win over Burlington

Good ball movement led to a pair of goals by Ben Peterson, and the Squalicum boys’ soccer team beat Burlington-Edison 4-0 on Friday, April 22.

“We did a really good job of moving the ball and spreading the attack out so that we could attack from different angles,” Storm coach Joe McAuliffe said in a phone interview.

Peterson scored on an assist from Tyler Hughes in the eighth minute and another from Gihovanni Melley in the 36th, and Ale Tomasi added an unassisted goal in the 17th.

Other results

Bellingham 1, Lynden 1: Bellingham’s Dane Thurston struck first on a free-kick goal in the 20th minute, before Lynden’s Jonathan Lara played a through ball to Nick Parris in the 38th minute to knot the score in an NWC tie.
