Meridian snuck past rival Lynden Christian 2-0 in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, April 12, thanks to Alan Eyoub’s 14th goal of the year.
Eyoub started the Trojans off quickly with a goal in the third minute on an assist by Alex Klykov. Meridian didn’t score again until the 46th minute when Klykov assisted Jordan Birnel. Coach Joe Spencer said it was nice to see seniors like Klykov battling.
“He’s been huge for us,” Spencer said. “Anytime we can find a way to take the focus off Alan with guys like Alex and Jordan, we can be dangerous on the offensive end.”
