Goalkeeper Jake Poag wasn’t playing for the Lynden Christian boys’ soccer team so in stepped freshman field player Nolan Thomas, and Thomas came through with three saves as the Lyncs played Anacortes to a 0-0 tie Tuesday, March 22, at Bender Fields.
“We just told him he was behind a good defense,” LC coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. “Just make plays , don’t think about it and be aggressive. He did a fantastic job.”
On offense De Ruyter said his team missed a few opportunities but he was satisfied with the game.
