Squalicum blew open its nonleague game with Sedro-Woolley, scoring four goals in the final 34 minutes to earn a 5-1 win over the Cubs on Saturday, March 19, in Sedro-Woolley.
Tyler Hughes scored twice and added an assist off a corner kick in the 13th minute and Eli Guidroz, Ben Peterson and Cole Nielsen each scored goals.
Squalicum actually trailed 1-0 early on, but the Storm’s shots began finding its marks in the second half, as Squalicum outshot Sedro-Woolley 22-6.
“The first half we had plenty of chances,” Squalicum coach Joe McAuliffe said. “I was a little concerned about playing four games in five days, but I was impressed. Tyler played with a lot of energy.”

Squalicum (3-1-0) opens Northwest Conference play next with a game against Nooksack Valley at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Northwest Soccer Park.
Lynden 3, Lynden Christian 2: Lions forward Nick Parris scored a pair of goals to lead Lynden to a nonleague win over city-rival LC. After trailing 2-0, the Lyncs tied the game in the second half before Parris entered back into the game and scored in the 75th minute.
Nooksack Valley 2, Blaine 0: The Pioneers snapped a two-game skid with a road win against Blaine. No other information was provided.
