LC falls to Burlington-Edison in season opener
Lynden Christian couldn’t quite hand with Burlington-Edison during its season opener and suffered a 3-1 nonleague loss Saturday, March 12, at Burlington-Edison High School.
Lyncs’ Carson Janzen answered an early Tigers goal with a score off an assist from teammate Jordan Riddle in the 20th minute, but Burlington-Edison’s Heran Moreno quickly put the Tigers back in front with a score two minutes later.
Burlington-Edison added a third goal in the 67th minute.
“Going against a quality team like Burlington, I think our guys got off to a great start tonight,” LC coach Brent De Ruyter said. “I thought both our returners and new guys fought hard today, and we learned a lot about what we need to focus on next week.”
