Lynden girls’ soccer wins 4-1 against Anacortes

Kali Spady scored two goals for Lynden girls’ soccer in a 4-1 win over Anacortes on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Anacortes High School.

The single goal for Anacortes was an own goal. Other than that moment early in the second half, the defense played a strong game led by Emily Holt, Lynden coach Carlos Melendez said in a phone interview.

“We came out and played really well from the beginning,” Melendez said. “Hit the crossbar, hit the post and we stuck with it so eventually the goals came.”

Lynden plays Bellingham at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Bender Fields.
