Jones powers Red Raiders to 8-1 girls’ soccer win

Morgan Jones scored twice and assisted on two more goals to help Bellingham bounce back from a lopsided defeat with a 8-1 Northwest Conference win over Anacortes on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Anacortes.

“We got blasted pretty good Tuesday, so we needed to regroup ourselves,” Bellingham coach Mark Wright said.

The Red Raiders took a 5-0 halftime lead, and Alice Heibert welcomed herself back from an extended absence with a goal two minutes into the second half.

Kayla Heidenreich, Kylie Clark, Brooke Baker, Peyton Schwinger and Jillian Langei also scored for Bellingham.

Bellingham hosts Meridian next at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Civic Stadium.
