Andrea Fabian is a senior at Bellingham High School and plays defense for the girl’ soccer team while balancing a spot on the varsity dance squad as well. She hopes to apply her interest in an active lifestyle to a career in sports medicine.

Fabian’s favorite part of being a high school athlete is the camaraderie she has developed with the girls on her team.

Question: What other activities are you involved in other than soccer?

Answer: Besides soccer, I am also on the varsity dance team at Bellingham and actually, that’s pretty much it.

Q: How do you balance those two things?

A: Dance starts after soccer so I just go from one sport to another and they do not really conflict with anything.

Q: What is it about these two activities that you love so much?

A: I started playing soccer in third grade, I really loved it because it kept me busy and active. I just really like dancing in general, it’s a lot of fun. I really enjoy it.

Q: Do you have any funny or memorable moments from high school soccer?

A: Practicing with all the girls that you meet in soccer, there are so many funny memories. I remember two years ago my friend was on the team and she would start making up nicknames for our coach. He was super serious so that just made it more funny.

Q: What else is something people might not know is an important part of your life?

A: School is really important to me, I’m not really sure how to explain this. School is really important to me but I can be a fun person, I can also focus on what matters to me to get things done.

Q: What goals do you want to accomplish your senior year?

A: For sports, I want to make it to state, making it and placing. For school, I just want to graduate with a good GPA. I am doing running start so hopefully I can use that to my advantage with college. . . I am looking toward University of Washington and Western just because they are close to home, so I can spend more time with my family.

Q: What is your favorite inspiration quote?

A: If I ever see a quote that is meaningful to me, I would keep that as a weekly or monthly thing. The word “integrity” means a lot to me. The meaning behind it is important to have, especially on a team.
